Keedox S802 box

So I got shipped one of these and will be doing a ROM.

Anyone else have one yet?

I am not much of a "review" person but here goes.

1) Works basic. Launcher is small and limited but it works for basic video play stuff. I am a stock AOSP launcher person for my TV boxes and that is missing.

2) Limited ports. I do not like that it does not support an OTG cable to transfer files or ADB to a PC. I wish it did as it makes it harder to develop on. Again though I am pretty sure this is one of the cheaper S802 boxes out there so you get what you get. My ROM will improve things for users. If you have no use for a PC connection then this is of no concern.

3) It is not rooted by default but my EZ root does work. However recovery on this box is very limited so to use my EZ root, you will need a wired USB keyboard! A mouse does not work in recovery. I did not try the IR remote to see if it works in recovery.

4) Kernel on latest ROM is October 30 so they are very close to the latest AML SDK.
The box came with a ROM and kernel dated Sept. 2014. The new ROM I got is Oct. 30 2014.

5) Video play seems to work pretty well considering what I have tested so far. Very much comparable to other S802 boxes. No surprises here! Same AML SDK for the most part.
It comes with a modified XBMC like all S802 boxes. Since there is no root, expect some issues.

6) What I do like about it is it is small! The smallest of the S802 boxes I have had so far.

7) It for sure has latest AML chip. I have checked and it is not a early AML ship with problems.

In summary Keedox is new to the line up of S802 TV boxes. The ROM for sure needs some work. Hardware is basic but does what it is suppose to do. Overall I give this box a 7 out of 10 compared to other s802 boxes out there. If your looking for a s802 box that wont cost a lot, then you might consider this box.
Keedox (Jimmy) seems committed to help and support customers. So that is a good sign.
Again I will be improving it with ROMs since I have one and may use this in the upstairs TV room. Stay tuned!

Samsung could release an “Edge” variant of the Galaxy S6 – report

From the recent launch of the  Galaxy Note Edge , it’s apparent that  Samsung  has been trying to stand out from the competition. Though we had our reservations about the new form factor, the next Samsung flagship could launch with an “Edge” variant as well. As reported by SamMobile, Samsung is rumored to launch a different form factor along the Galaxy S6 next year. Much like the Note line this year, the Galaxy S6 is said to launch in two variants: one with a plain slab of glass like we’re used to, and one with a curved-edge display. We’re unsure if the screen will have the same curve on the right edge like we saw at the Note Edge, but we’re hoping Samsung improves on the form factor, as the curved screen device had some problems of its own.
